Developing a Comprehensive Quantitative Trading Marker
Over the past few months, I have been working with a small group of colleagues on developing a trading-focused research project. Our objective has not been to produce a finished model immediately, but to understand how quantitative frameworks, disciplined reasoning, and structured analysis can be applied to financial markets.
We are currently in the process of building a prototype, coding analytical tools to test simple rule-based strategies and evaluate assumptions using historical data. The emphasis has been on defining variables clearly, measuring risk appropriately, and assessing performance systematically. Rather than focusing on outcomes alone, we are concentrating on building a robust analytical process grounded in logic and evaluation.
In parallel, we have engaged with professors, fintech researchers, and startup CEOs to better understand how quantitative concepts translate into real-world financial tools. Conversations with traders, investment bankers, and portfolio managers have provided valuable insight into market behaviour, risk management, and the importance of disciplined decision-making under uncertainty.
This project represents an ongoing effort to bridge academic quantitative thinking with practical market perspectives, combining technical experimentation with a deeper understanding of how financial systems operate in professional environments.
